Table width

Hey Trevor ... it's all cool. I'm just asking questions ... sure didn't
want it to be interpreted as anything else. Everyone is so helpful and I
appreciate all attempts to help me through some of the problems I encounter
with FP. I was giving feedback on what I had tried after some suggestions.
Frontpage sure can baffle me more than I'd like ... but it's all part of the
learning curve. FP seems to behave differently than what I expect.

I can't answer your blank file question. I heard of PictureIt ... a while
back, but have never used it. I, too, would be curious to hear the answer.
The question that pops into my mind is ... what size would the file be?
Now, having said that, I recall a response where I think it was Thomas that
said to insert the gif into Frontpage and check the properties of the image
.... so I suppose that answers my question.

Diana

Thomas and Diana,

I have no intention of joining a fight. I am just curious.

I opened a blank file in PictureIt! and saved it in gif format. Would this
be a transparent gif? It shows as completely blank

Diana,
I'll leave to Thomas to send you one

Go to
http://obabank.com/images/sp_trans.gif
You won't see anything on the page!
Use File Save As and it will give you a 10X10 px transparent gif (sp_tran.gif) to save
File Import it into your web
Drag it onto your page, and set it's size to whatever you want in Picture properties

I think you can create a transparent gif in any Image Editor by opening a
blank page and then saving it.

In Fireworks you can open a 1x1 pixel document with a white canvas, and
then export it as a GIF with Index transparency.

Selecting the background color of a 1 color document as the color to be
transparent in your GIF should export a transparency you can use as a
spacer.

Hi all.

Diana, I thought my post might have been thought of as provocative. I trust
it wasn't.

Linda, I'm glad to hear that another Image editor can save a blank file.

In PictureIt! V6.0.907.0, there is an option under the file menu to open a
new blank picture. Doing this and saving it seems to do the trick.
PictureIt! can size the image to anything, even 1*1 pixel as can (the free)
IrfanView

I have checked the website and that's good - it is a 10*10 pixel gif

Enjoy your hunting for answers and have fun learning
