Whe I perform an update for my Tables of tabble the page break affter the
table is always removed. How can I stop this from occuring. the documentt
I'm working with now, the 1st paragraph heading is also getting deleted.

It seems as if you have inadvertently inserted the break inside the table of
contents field. Press Alt+F9 to show field codes. The TOC will display
similar to this: { TOC \o "1-3" \h }. Make sure to insert the page break
after the TOC, in a separate paragraph. Press Alt+F9 again to hide the field
codes. Press F9 to update the TOC.

An even better approach would be to avoid manual page breaks, and use "Page
break before" formatting (Paragraph dialog box, Line and Page Breaks tab) on
the paragraph that should start a new page.

If you are talking about the Table of Contents, place the cursor on the
first heading after the TOC, select Format\Paragraph\Line and Page Breaks,
then check the Page break before box.

Hope this helps,
