Table of Contents

Keith Howard

Hi

I created a table of contents and Word 2007 formated it as follows:

1. ABC...........................................1
2. DEF............................................2
2.1
XYZ...................................................................................4
2.2
CDE..................................................................................5

I tried to right align and recreate the table but neither approaches worked.

I want the alignment to be justified. Something like the following:

1.
ABC.......................................................................................1
2.
DEF........................................................................................2
2.1
XYZ...................................................................................4
2.2
CDE..................................................................................5

Can you tell me how to do the same?

It's pretty much impossible to tell what you actually want, but, if I
understand it correctly, make sure that the TOC 1 and TOC 2 styles have a
right-aligned tab at the right margin. You might start by selecting the
entire TOC field and pressing Ctrl+Q to see if that will straighten it out.
