How can I keep the rest of the paragraph from printing on the table of
contents when all I want is the auto number and the title that follows. The
balance of the paragraph runs on after this title. I'm in Word 2007.

The Style Separator worked great. The TOC entries displayed the auto
numbering when styled with Heading 1 or 2 and the remainder of the paragraph
styled as Body Text. Thanks for your help.

I'm glad to hear that the numbering was not a problem with the style
separator. It seems I had heard conflicting reports.

Gulp. I'm creating my FIRST TOC in Word 2007. From what I've been reading
I'm scared to death to even start.

I have a "manual" that I am creating. I don't use Headings and turn off
auto numbering because I always get into trouble that I can't get out of--I'm
converting from WordPerfect to Word. The manual has headings right now and I
tried to create a TOC with the existing headings and got nowhere.

Where is the best place to go to get step-by-step instructions for TOC in
Word 2007? My Word 2007 Dummies book wasn't very helpful; guess I'm a real
dummy!

Thanks for helping.

I know lots of your MVPs have websites: Where should I go?
