Table of Contents Repeating Headings

Hi,
Some of my headings are appearing twice in my table of contents but are only
written once in the body of my report.
I have tried deleting the headings in the body and retyping them, but when I
update the table of contents, they still appear twice. Does anyone know how
to fix this?

Is your Table of Contents based on heading styles or TC fields? If it's
the latter, then maybe you created two TC fields for some of the headings.
 
The usual reason for this is having an empty paragraph or a page break
before the heading that is in the heading style.
