table of contents/ page numbers when e-mailed

My table of contents is fine, but when I attach the document to an e-mail and
then open the document up, all the page numbers in the TOC refer to page 3.
Any ideas?
 
Are you opening in Reading Layout view? Some users have reported that this
corrupts the TOC.
