Table locked, while opening it, but the table cannot be locked be.

This box appears when I am in the main form for customer details and I
attempt to access a linked form registration more than once. I have to exit
the main form and re-enter to look at another customer's record.

You tried to lock table. while opening it, but the table cannot be locked
because it is currently in use. Wait a moment, and then try the operation
again.
 
Go to Tools ... Options and use the Advanced tab to set the default record
locking to "No Locks". See if that helps. If not, you will need to at least
save the edited record before you can open the other form.
