table does not open - parameter prompt

Access07 In the frontend, a table (linked from backend) will not open when
double clicked. It presents a parameter prompt for the one field of that
table that is indeed defined as a lookup field - as if it were a query that I
was opening. However in the frontend the subform that is sourced on this
table works fine

I can open the backend file directly and then doubleclick on this table, and
it opens fine. Do not receive this parameter prompt. So can look at all the
data - but it is inconvenient.

I have double checked that there is no record with this lookup field being
blank.

Any advice on this?

Have you tried relinking the table using Linked Table Manager?

How about a compact and repair of both the FE and BE?

compact/repair for front & back, and relink, did not change the behavior.

As a test I just whipped up a query, adding all fields - and it opens
fine....so I can see all data via a query but can not open the table in
dataview directly in the frontend....

I've never seen it before in any prior versions of Access; but I've had one
prior dialog with another user in this community that had a form that would
not open when sourced directly onto a table but worked fine if sourced on a
query of that table....very similar.... both times was 07
