My systray used to show only the icons for active applications: a little
plus sign was at the left end and clicking this showed all the icons.
After a forced restart it now is permanently open: it shows some of the
active icons and a blank space. There is not little plus sign.

This must be a corruption somewhere in the Registry. Anyone know where to
look?

Hi,

Right-click the taskbar and select properties. On the first tab, recheck the
"hide inactive icons" line.
