systray notification - skype

Hi everyone
I have created a image with our custom shell so that there will be no
taskbar running. But the skype (when minimize in tray) will only popup the
balloon alert if i enable the taskbar. Is there a way to enable the system
tray without taskbar so that balloon alert will work or other workaround.

I don't think you can have one without the other. It has been awhile, but I
belive if in the User Interface core if you just enable system tray messages
these will appear as dialog boxes for a custom shell.
