I am running Windows XP Home Ed, Service pack 2, on a Dell Dimension 4400,
with two hard drives. A 40 GB Maxtor, and a 160 GB Western Digital. 512mb
ram, dvdrw and a cdrw.
I can boot into the 40 GB drive with no problems. I started having problems
with the 160 HD freezing up and restarting. Last week I could go into safe
mode. Now it will not boot into safe mode. When I try to do a repair install
from the Windows OEM XP disk. I get this error SystemRoot\system32\nt.dll
Stop c000021 unknown hard error on a blue screen.
Microsoft Website says that it comes from third party drivers, I have not
installed any new drivers. My repair cd of Windows XP is old, pre-service
pack 1. Could this be the problem?? Please help..
