after windows carried out an automaterd updated last night it will not start
this morning. When I try to boot up I get the same instruction "reinstall
windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe. I have tried starting in safe mode but
no matter which of the options I try I still get the same message as above.

Two parts to my question
1. How do you get a copy of the missing file
2. How do you install it if the computer will not boot up?

Any help would be usefull

Borrow a friend's copy or look to see if the re-install disks support the
repair installation.
