On my computer running XP home, the system32 folder opens on startup. I
read the kb article on this issue and did not find any of the items in the
registry that it said would cause this problem.

Would TweakUI fix this?

Are there any other suggestions?

TIA

Hi

Try the following link. If you are not familiar with .VBS files, please
read the instructions at the top of the page.

Besides the situation of paths with spaces not being enclosed in quotes,
there is a Creative driver that adds a registry key with an extraneous
space. MVP Kelly Theriot has a *.VBS file that will fix the errant registry
key for you. You'll find the link to download the *.VBS file on line 260
(right hand side) of this page:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

*.VBS files can be opened in Notepad if you want to check what changes the
file will make. Double click on the file to run it. NOTE: If your antivirus
program has script protection, it may warn you about using the file. In
this case, it is safe to bypass the warning.

I don't know if the following link is the article you referred to earlier
or not. Just in case you haven't seen this one, I'm including it:
