Open folder on startup

Windows XP Pro: Upon startup, re-start, or boot, the System32 folder is
open on the desktop. Is there a way to keep it from opening at startup?

Please go to the following website, scroll to line 260, click "System32
Folder Opens Upon Boot," in the right column:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

You should always make a manual restore point in System Restore before
running a fix: Start\All Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Restore.

Michael,

I tried that fix and also checked registry per MS article and found no
problems. I am still getting that open window, so I restored my registry to
before application of kelly fix.

Any other suggestions?

First, make sure you antivirus software is up to date and run a virus scan
of your system.

Second, download, install and run Ad Aware as this issue may be the result
of some malware on your system:

If the above doesn't resolve the issue, if this is a relatively recent
issue, try using System Restore to take you back to a time prior to when
this began. Start\All Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Restore.
