SYSTEM32 folder opens on startup

Tech support fixed this once, but after installing a
scanner, the System32 folder is again opening when I sign
in to Windows XP Home Edition. Any ideas how to disable
this? There's no shortcut to the folder in startup, and
my tinkering with MSconfig didn't find the right solution.
