Hi

A friend has a rather irritating problem - every time she starts Windows XP
the system 32 folder opens on the desktop.

I've checked the menu start-up folder, msconfig startups to see if its
loading
from there and also run a registry health check utility.

I cant find the cause and nothing I've tried has stopped it.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your time

This can be caused by a blank entry, such as can be left behind by
an incomplete program removal, in the
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and/or
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys. It can also
be caused by an entry in these same keys that starts with a " / ."
