SYSTEM32 Folder Displays on Startup

Mark

Hello,

I have a new desktop with XP Professional. When the
system boots, the last program that it displays on
startup is a half-screen window of the System32 folder.

I have looked at STARTUP and I do not see the System32
folder listed as a program that will run a startup.

Any ideas on how I can stop the system32 folder from
displaying at boot/startup.

Thanks,
Mark

Greetings --

This can be caused by a blank entry, such as can be left behind by
an incomplete program removal, in the
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and/or
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys. It can also
be caused by an entry in these same keys that starts with a " / ."
