I have recently installed a Microsoft Windows Update and
completed a virus scan on my computer. Since I have
received an error message upon boot that reads: Windows
cannot find c:\WINNT\System32\System32.exe. If this file
is necessary, how do I get it replaced? If it is not
necessary, how do I get rid of the error message?

That is a virus, pretending to be a system component. The entry trying
to load it is probably present if you run MSconfig and look in the
Startup page - uncheck the line and exit (don't bother with rebooting,
but at next boot when it gives a warning check the 'don't show again'
and OK
