system32.exe

on start up a message always appears saying that my comp
cant find system32.exe. my virus software has removed
this file because it was a virus but i cant stop the
popup message appearing, it also stops me having access
to my own shared folder on my LAN. i have read up on the
virus but i cant find anything on how to get rid of the
popup message and how to stop my computer searching for
this file everytime i turn it on. can anyone help?

The System32.exe file *is* the virus; it's certainly not a valid
WinXP system file. You don't want that file. Pay particular attention
to _all_ of the removal instructions:
