system32 error corrupt or missing

Out of the blue my system crashed. I tried to reboot in safe mode and normal
mode and it states that I should put in xp disk and press "r". It doesn't do
anything except to state that there is a corrupt or missing file in
system32\drivers\ntfs.sys

I moved the hard drive to another computer and it is fine, but on both
computers the floppy drives give me a i/o error. They both show that they
exist on the computer but will not read/write or format to them, making it
impossible to make a xp bootable floppy.

PLEASE HELP I have been searching the web for 3 days trying to figure this
out.

Hi, The exact screen says:

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt
System32\drivers\ntfs.sys
You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows setup using the
original setup CD-ROM. Select 'r' @ first screen to repair.

As I speak the CD is still spinning, but only after the same screen
appeared. I changed the BIOS to boot from CD and have tried to determine if
the memory went bad for some reason.. I have 3 sets of 256 DDR and am not
sure what has happened. The computers are identical and I built them a lttle
over 2 years ago but have not started to use them until recently. I am
unable to even reformat the little rat bastard.

Thanks

Greetings,
I had the same problem after applying sp2. I copied the file from the MS XP
install disk and over wrote the ntfs.sys file, seems to have resolved the
isssue.
