system windows.....

will not stay open. By system windows I mean Task Manager, MSconfig, Regedit
etc. As soon as I run the arrow over them, they disappear. Using a Gateway
laptop with XP home. I checked the mouse and touch pad properties but didn't
see anything odd there. Can anyone help?

Hi,

Viral infection, possible Klez or Yaha, but there are several others. Use
the emergency tools described by MVP Doug Knox here while you update your
antivirus software and run full system scans from Safe mode. Running in
normal mode is sort of pointless, as av software is generally unable to
remove bugs that are in resident memory.

The utility windows also popped up and then disappeared before I could do
anything. Running virus scan in safe mode now. Any other suggestions?
