System Tray Icons

The icons have vanished form the system tray next to the
clock and I cant get them to return. Internet explorer
also seems to be throwing me out of Knowledge Base and
closing my browser when I look up this problem.
 
Possibly symptoms of an infected machine resisting your
attempts to do something about it.
Download and install all critical patches for your OS and
IE, update your anti-virus software with the latest
definitions, install and activate a firewall or activate
the XP built-in firewall. Run a full-system scan with
your updated anti-virus software. Download, update and
run Spybot - Search & Destory and AdAware.
