Have you right clicked the clock, left clicked Properties, clicked to REMOVE the checkmark
to the left of: Hide Inactive Icons, then clicked the APPLY and OK buttons, and rebooted
your system? That's just to show ALL icons in the Notification Area (formerly called the
System Tray). If you only want certain icons to show, DON'T click to remove the checkmark
to the left of Hide Inactive Icons. INSTEAD, click the Customize button in that same
Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window, select Items, one at a time, in the Current
Items list. When the item is highlighted, click the arrow for the dropdown menu on the
right end of the line. Then on the resulting dropdown menu click on your choice from the
available options (Hide When Inactive, Always Hide, Always Show). When you've finished
going through the list of Current Items, click the OK button, then click the APPLY and OK
buttons at the bottom of the remaining window.
