System tray does not "reload" after XP reboot.

If I shut down my computer, the system tray empties out.
I read where I can log off and back on to reload the tray,
which works, but it's annoying. Any patches out there I
don't know about? why doesn't it reload?

It sounds like you are referring to a Windows Explorer crash, not a
Windows shutdown. When Explorer crashes, the systray utilities are
responsible for restoring their icons to the systray. Some do not,
because at one time Microsoft said that they wouldn't have to worry
about that.

If you logoff, then the systray icons will all return, but if you don't,
the programs will continue running until they access the systray to
update their icons or until you logoff or shutdown.
