This is strange. My computer has been a little slugish lately, and when I
boot up, it sometimes takes a few minutes before my wacom driver is loaded.
I thought I'd check msconfig to see what was in start up because my startup
folder is empty. When I tried to load it, nothing happend, then when I
ctrl+a+del the task man would pop for just a sec, and then close all by
itself. I'd keep doing it but each time it would close. I don't do piracy
and I don't have kazaa or other p2p stuff installed but that kind of
concerns me. I'm thinking to myself that potentially I have some sort of
program installed that's closing the task man on me so I can't see what
processes are running.

Now, it's been 8 minutes since I booted up and I still can't access the task
man or msconfig.

I guess i'll try safe mode and see if I can load msconfig from there...

It's wise to check the group for your topic - first thing. A search for
"task manager" reveals dozens of hits, hinting that a worm is infesting
your PC. Here's but one...

w32.spybot worm disables NAV, Msconfig, Regedit and Task Manager:

Try this to:

Sorry, I should have checked....thanks..

(although, I did scan with housecall.antivirus a couple days ago and it
found nothing)

I've ordered Sysworks 2k3 cause my 2002 virus defs expired a while ago. It
should be here soon, hopefully I can take care of it before then though.
