system standby failed

When I leave my new HP Pavilion with WindowsXP idle, it no
longer goes into system standby as before. I get this
message:
"System standby failed.
The device driver for the'HP PS2 Keyboard (2K - 3)'
device is preventing the machine from entering standby.
Please close all aplications and try again. If the problem
persists, you may need to update this driver."
Why would a brand-new machine suddenly have this error?
What should I do?
Thanks.
Sylvia

Hi Sylvia,

Check with HP for a keyboard driver update. The one they provided with the
system is inadequate, this is not all that unusual as many desktops
encounter trouble with standby mode.

Thanks, Rick.
I learned from HP support that it was a conflict with old
Adobe Photo Deluxe software: Adobe Type Manager version 4.0
