System slow

I find that my system is running pretty slow at various times of the day
when I am not doing anything.

If I run File Monitor, I can see 3 things running constantly:

PccNTMon.exe opening and closing files
SearchIndexer and SearchProtocalh? doing something like crazy.

Is this normal and is it slowing down my system?

Thanks,

Tom

Sounds like PC-Cillin AV is running an AV scan in the background. Check your
AV settings and let me know what the out come is.

sounds like search
indexing and the
a.v. are chasing each
others tails.

Sound like Windows Search 4.0. It will hog your system even when you are
doing something. Check Add/Remove Programs for it and uninstall it.
What does it do?

Do I need it for searching for documents on my system?

Thanks,

Tom

Where do I find that?

I have only the client server security agent on my system.

Thanks,

Tom
