The issue is :
when I use IE to browse the website, occationally, there
will be dialog prompted to me" The system is shuting down
and please save the files." And the message states the
cause is "because the RPC service terminated unexpectedly".

I don't know why such problem occurs and please help.

My IE is version 6.0 and operation system is Window XP
home edition.

This RCP program is some legacy application used to
process network data. Did you by chance not format your
hard drive when you installed Windows XP? Well anyhow
what you should do is figure out what this task is in
task manager and try to find its associated service in
administrative options in the control panel if it is
associated with one of them. Chances are it might be
involved with the Microsoft Net Framework 1.0 and 1.1 so
you should uninstall those services and do Windows Update
again and it will download them and if it fails to do it
you should go to the Windows Update Download website
Catalog and look for those two applications and reinstall
them in order Net Framework 1.0 and 1.1. There was a
hubub between some Sun Java and Microsoft Java and they
had to end up scrapping a part of a Microsoft Java
project to end up at a result which would work on Windows
XP and if folks didn't keep up with the Windows Updates
all along the way like me I had some similar woes I had
to get some tech support from Microsoft to figure out I
had to reinstall the Microsoft Net Framework Services 1.0
and 1.1 update that goes with it.

hope it's not the blaster worm by you not using a firewall.
usually the blaster worm shuts down in 1 minute.and you go
to start, run, type cmd ,hit enter , then type
shutdown -a , hit enter. and that should terminate the
process. and run windows update for at least the critical ones.
