Could anyone tell me what would automatically disable all system services in
XP ? Have done virus scans etc; no results nothing found. Have re-set to
defaults only to have them autmatically return to disabled ? This is on
newer Gateway system probably about 6months old. Has XP Media installed. --

Spyware or trojan or other malware. Get
adaware from lavasoft.com
Spybot Search & Destroy from spybot.com
HiJack This from hijackthis.com

Is your antivirus up to date, as in, within the last week? Or better yet,
today? If not, update it. What are you using for virus scans?

Update first, then run ALL of them, one after the other, in the order listed
above. Come back if still no good. Do NOT post a hijackthis log HERE!

Hello Pop !

Charlie ! Will get back as soon as I can working on a laptop at the present
for the daughter.

Charlie ! Uninstalled the Virius software Trend Micro as this seems to stop
the process of diabling the system services in the system cofiguration
utility, maybe a bug or something ,installed Nod 32 and everthing is getting
along fine now. It that is Trend Micro for some unknown reason every time we
loaded it it would automatically disable or uncheck system services .
