system restore

according to my knowledge, system restore is supposed to create resotre
point regularly. mine only creates a retore point when i do it manually, or
before i install something.
i checked my services, and i have both system restore and task scheduler
ruhning. system restore is enabled on both my drives.
why isn't it creating the restore points automatically.
win xp pro.
