System Restore will not go back before todays date, when
calender appears on system restore it is impossibe to go
back a day, days or previous month, when I try to
manually input the desired date, present date and time
always takes precedence.
System now has a missing file and trying to go back 2
weeks to restore previous settings.

To fix system restore,shut it off and reboot, you have
corrupted volume files and this will delete them (along
with your restore points)once you rebooted turn SR back
on and reboot again this will create an auto checkpoint
so you know SR is working again.
To restore your system file that is missing try
sfc /scannow
Put your XP cd in the drive (in case of an HP computer or
another one with xp in a partition you can ignore that)
open your command prompt and type in sfc /scannow
and hit ok this will check your system for missing files
and if any are missing it will extract them from the cd
and replace them. "note there is a space between sfc and
the forward slash.
