I need system restore for about a month. I know how to remove
all but the
last restore point. The restore points do take up space.
QUESTION, is there a way to remove all restore points except
the last months?
Reduce the amount of HD space allocated to System Restore.
Go to Control Panel and double click System.
In System Properties, click on the System Restore tab.
In the "Available drives:" box, click on your system drive and
hit the Settings button.
Moving the slider to the left will decrease the number of
restore points saved.
The default setting is to allocate 12% of the drive. By
decreasing this amount, you will delete the oldest restore
points. You should move the slider one notch at a time and
check to see how many restore points are available on the
calendar. Personally, I only keep two weeks worth of restore
points. I've found allocating 1600 MB does the job.
Keep in mind that you can turn off System Restore on any drives
which hold only data.
Good luck
