Ok this is just a minor question, I understand the save points and such but
one thing that concerns me is my disk space, say for example if I can't
choose this very save point a year from now. How would I be able to get my
computer back to its state that it was

When Vista creates a new restore point it only saves changed and new files
and compresses what it backs up. This results in very small backups.

oh so basicallly say a year from now I reformat, it will keep the programs I
currently have, and it will restore the old space to what it was?

If you reformat and reinstall Vista, those restore points are gone. For
what you are looking for, you would want to create an image of your current
hard drives that you can restore at any point later, or use Complete PC
Backup and Restore if you have Ultimate.

ok one last thing, say if I do want to reformat my computer with vista, to
take it back to how it was the very first day I got it, how do I do that?

You simply restore the image you made immediately after completing the
install of Vista or immediately after you booted your new computer. You did
make an image didn't you?

It is said that if you line up all the cars in the world end-to-end,
someone would be stupid enough to try to pass them.

Your computer would have come with either a hidden partition containing your
Vista Recovery files for you to burn to disk to take it back to factory in
the future, or the manufacturers OEM System disk.
