System Restore

When I try to restore to an earlier date I get the error
message telling me that, "The System Restore was unable
to restore to the selected date". The available restore
dates were about ten. I tried each one of them, but got
the same results with each. I then went to MS Knowledge
Base Article 302796 and tried each of the suggested
fixes. None of them helped. Even running System Restore
in Safe Mode gave me the same bad results. I also looked
at MSKB 283096 but I don't think this applies to me.

You can turn it off from Control Panel > System > and then
re-boot and it will purge it's file. Then re-boot, turn it
back on.
And try this if the above does not work.

1. Put the in the Windows XP CD
2. Click Start , Run
3. Type the following then OK

rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection
C:\Windows\Inf\sr.inf


You can also open Windows Explorer, go to
C:\Windows\Inf folder and right-click sr.inf (Then Install)
