System Restore

Hello Everyone!

This is my first posting to this group and I am quite excited about
it.

I have some questions regarding system restore as I was under the
impression that a new restore point was automatically created every
day. When I review my list of restore points I seem to be missing some
of these "system checkpoints" or automatic daily restore points. There
are recent dates which are not listed.

Does anyone know if this is normal or can anyone one correct my
understanding of how this works?

Oops the other one was specific to XP but it's basically the same.

If you click on the main Start button then select help then enter
'restore points' you'll find many entires that explain in detail how
System Restore works, how to make new entires, remove old ones, etc..

Many thanks for the response! I have looked at the info suggested and
I saw that system restore adds a restore point every 24 hours calender
time or 24 hours computer use (whichever comes first). I have a
suspicion that this has not been occuring, I am not 100% yet but this
will help me to keep an eye on things.

I had a virus attack which Dell Connect sorted out for me. It turns
out the pre-installed Mcafee suite was not upgraded properly. I have a
feeling that all is not well since they took remote control of my PC!

More will be revealed no doubt!
