System Restore

Does it effectively save the just-previous registry settings that existed in
the previous bootup; before the installation of new hardware/software messes
up a system? If so, then why back up the registry with ERUNT?
 
Because, as evident by many previous posts in this group, System Restore
can't always be counted on to function.

If something has gone wrong with your system, then Restore itself may
also be corrupted. A couple of weeks ago I was looking at a reinstall
until I remembered my erunt backup.
