System restore

Greeting all

I am having problems with a program on my computer which would say,

"hl2.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience."

Now this is a online game program and i was cleaning some of the files
before I experienced this error.
Since I wasn't worried about losing any recent files I decided to run a
system restore back to a week before the changes I had made. This is where my
problem lies.
When I tried to do a system restore I received this message.
RSTRUI.exe - Bad image
" the application or DLL C:\windows\system32\wbem\framedyn.dll is not a
valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette."

I tried my XP installation diskette but since installing XP sp2 the dixette
is no longer any good unless I deinstall sp2 and then start all over.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix my problem?

HELP!!!

Yes, but the information maybe in the SP2 file.

Do you still have that, so that you can extract (with install), and look for
the file.

Keep in mind the file maybe in a *.cab file, so to just look in a folder may
not be enough.
You could also just get it from another system and try it on your system
(re-register it first).
Backup the old and install the new in the same folder.

The current is: 185,856 bytes dated 8/3/2004
Version: 5.1.2600.2180
