system restore

I picked system restore, using safe mode. XP works fine in safe mode with
network. But, using normal start after system resore(XP said it restored
successfully), XP shows normal start and before desk top screen shows up,
screen gets black losing the signal from PC. What to do to get back to
normal start?

Go back into Safe Mode. Right Click the My Computer icon on desktop. Select Properties.
Next, select Advanced. Look for a block that says Startup and recovery. Press the settings button.

In System failure section, turn off (un-check) Automatically restart.

Write an event to system log should be Checked (selected).

Once restart on failure is disabled, you may get a STOP error with text --- at the next Windows startup.
Write it all down, and then start searching for the final solution.
