My system restore is no longer restoring. When I try to restore to an
earlier date, I get a message back that it was not able to restore the
computer. Can you suggest how this might be fixed? thanks
As a general rule when this happens the only option is to wipe out all
of the existing System Restore points.
There are two ways of doing this.
1. Turn off System Restore, shut down and restart the computer, and
then restart System Restore.
or
2. Create a new manual restore point. Then use the Advanced options
in Disk Cleanup (under Accessories - System Tools on the Start Menu)
to delete all but the most recent restore point.
