System Restore

I get confused between the different operating systems.

Does Win2k have a system restore facility?

If not, what is the best way of fixing a corrupted registry on a family
computer with lots of programs and utilities which could never be located and
reinstalled after a reformat or fresh installation of the OS?
 
No system restore in Windows 2000. Why do you believe the is registry
corrupted immediately after a clean install?
