system restore

I have 2 at risk files that will not delete from my system. I have tried to do a "system restore", but it when it asks you to click on a bold date, it only gives today's date. I need to restore my system back to the date before those at risk files were installed.
does anyone have any information on how I can do this?
thanks in advance.........
 
you can't go back because no backup was created on system you have to create a restore date
