SYSTEM RESTORE WILL NOT WORK

System restore has not worked for awhile now. I have upgraded to IE7 but
system restore still does not work. I have Norton virus, windows defender and
adaware. I have no viruses or spyware on my computer. I turned off system
restore and then restarted it. All prior restore points were deleted and new
ones began. I tried again today to use system restore (restoring it to
yesterday's settings) and once again got a message saying system restore
could not restore computer to that date. I get the same message every time I
try to use system restore. I have found no way to troubleshoot or diagnose
what is wrong with my system restore. I am in the dark and would like to
solve this problem before I really NEED to use my system restore. I am not
really computer literate so please give explanations as simple as possible.
Thanks

Are you telling me not to use Norton? I have always used Norton for
anti-virus. I never had this problem until this last year sometime. Should I
try to talk to someone at Norton about the problem?

Hi,

What I am saying is it may be necessary to uninstall NAV, then test
System Restore to troubleshoot the problem. If NAV is causing the
problem then it would be time to find another AV application that will
not interfere with the functioning of System Restore.

I have the smae problem (and OS/Anti-Virus as Vicki). I've tried
temporarily disabling Norton but that hasn't worked - would
uninstalling it be a btter bet?

Thanks in anticipation
