System Restore

I am having problems with my browser and want to use Xp's
restore utility. In the past this has worked fine for me,
however now when I try no matter what restore point date I
choose the system appears to be busy for awhile then it
comes back with the message "Restore could not be
completed, pick another restore point."

Sorry but your system volume (restore) files are

corrupted, it happens.To get system restore working again
you need to shut it off and reboot,this will delete all
restore points (they are not working anyway).Once you
rebooted turn system restore back on and create a new
restore point manually.
