System Restore Win XP Home edition.

Cant get System restore to work. Worked fine about a week
ago. Not sure if there is a virus present. Question: I
plan to restore winxp with my disk, will i have to un
delete winxp first? I realize that i will lose all my
security updates from microsoft, but i will restort them
after restore. Any help on this matter. Thanks. Francis j.
