Hi
When I click on stsyem restore nothing happens.
I've scanned, cleanned and even been on other microsoft pages but non of the
5 help steps have helpped. I'm using XP media centre and my windows
automatic updates are all up to date.

I did read here? to turn off system restor on all the drives and just delet
past restors, but how would i do that?

Thanks

No luck, I went into safe mode but just like before when I click system
restore all that happens is. The hour glass flashes quickly and nothing
happens. I tried a few times and nothing but no window opens up.

I forgot to say I'm using an acer 5610 laptop and in another help.
How to purge the System Restore Store.
It says START, MY COMPUTER, RIGHT CLICK PROPERTIES then click the tab SYSTEM
RESTORE.
But there is no such tab just
ADVANCED, AUTO UPDATES, REMOTE, GENERAL, COMPUTER NAME and HARDWARE.

Thanks anyway Bert ;)

Thanks wally
I ran REGEDIT and navigated to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \
SystemRestore

In the right-pane:
Delete the value DisableConfig
Delete the value DisableSR

But all I got was

name - terminal services,
type - ab(default)
data - reg_sz (value not set)

Then I ran the second opption GPEDIT.MSC and it said this

Set Turn off System Restore to Not Configured
Set Turn off Configuration to Not Configured

Still not working but thanks guys for your time ;)
