System restore will not restore back to any point I try. I get an error
message, that an error has happened and system restore did not work. Files
have not been changed. There is no error code. Just said; error has happened,
system restore could not restore.

Do you get anything about this error in the event-log?

Have a Norton product installed perhaps? If yes, this is a known issue.

sounds like you have norton 2007 on your system ,tou will have to disable all
symantec products before you restore .when this happened to me i emailed
norton and got a solution back post again if you need it
