windows xp will not do a system restore,SYSTEM RESTORE is
turned on and running, the disk space usage is turned to
MAX, and in status says its monitoring drive C:, there
are 61 system check points, of which I've tired 27
randomly but without success, I go to START-PROGRAMS-
ACCESSORIES-SYSTEM TOOLS, and click SYSTEM RESTORE, when
the welcome box comes up, I check RESTORE MY COMPUTER TO
AN EARLIER TIME, then click on NEXT,then I select a
RESTORE POINT, (this I have done 27 times) then click on
NEXT, COMFIRM RESTORE POINT SELECTION, click on NEXT,
system then shuts down, and on rebooting, box appears
says:
RESTORING FILES, then the SYSTEM RESTORE box appears with
the words: RESTORATION INCOMPLETE.....YOUR COMPUTER
CANNOT BE RESTOERED TO: (DATE) NO CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE
TO YOUR COMPUTER, TO CHOOSE ANOTHER RESTORE POINT
RESTSTART SYSTEM RESTORE. Well, as I've said this has
been done 27 times now, why do you think it won't
restore? can you help? my PC at the moment seems to be
running ok, with everything as far as i know working ok,
its just this restore thing, what would happen if
something more serous happened and i can do a SYSTEM
RESTORE?

You say that your computer is running fine? If so then
shut off system restore this will delete all checkpoints
you may have corrupted files, turn system restore back on
and create a new check point this should get it working
again
