System restore malfunction

Hi,

I was infected with the trojan downloader DYFICA and in
an attempt to remove it, I turned off system restore.
Now howver, when I go to turn it back on, it says:
System restore is not able to protect your computer. I
went to microsoft's support page and tried starting
system restore in safe mode, and that didn't work! When
I run all of my spyware and antivirus software nothing
comes up, so I think the virus is gone, however, my
system restore is not working. Help??

Hello,


Do a search for the SR.inf file which is normally located
in C:\WINDOWS\INF

You might need to enable search hidden files in your
search criteria.

Right-click on the SR.inf file and select the install
option.
