System Restore Incomplete

Trying to use System Restore to roll back to a time when
my Taskbar remembered its settings, but process fails at
every restore point I have tried. Only message after
login is "System Restore Incomplete", no other clues as
to why it fails. Anybody got any ideas? Rather not do a
rebuild for a relatively minor matter. Cheers, Bill

The files that system restore uses (system volume) are corrupted, sorry but the only way to get it working again is to shut it off,reboot and turn it back on again. this will repair the files but also delete all of your past restore points
