I bought a Sony Vaio AR41S laptop on the first week of September. It used to
work perfectly until recently.

Now I am having the following problems:

1. If I do a system restore I get the following message no matter which date
I choose to restore to:

An unspecified error occurred during system restore.

--

This means that none of the changes were made and I am stuck with the same
problems.

Also occasionally (and this is sporadic) if I open let's say 4 windows I am
unable to open any more unless I close a couple first. I also during this
time am unable to right-click on anything, whether it be my desktop or a file
name.

I attempted to contact Microsoft help since it's free for the first 90 days
but even though I have the 2-digit product ID in the form
12345-XXX-1234567-12345 I am told that it is invalid.

Please help me because I want my laptop to work!

Does your computer have Norton AV or other Norton products installed? I had
the same problem and it turned out to be Norton Antivirus that caused the
Restore failure.
